The forum is not moderated by Dell engineers, the Dell employees are more customer service focused. And so far Dell's "award winning support" has fallen very short of my expectations. I paid good money for a machine, I expect it to work properly. Perhaps they should look into this and give us an asnwer. I know this forum is moderated by Dell engineers. I was also unable to find any reference to this issue, or any suitable work arounds for it on Dell's web site. Especially when you have the "Designed for Windows XP" logo right on the machine.

I think it is completely unacceptable for dell to send a machine out that you can't re-install the OS from a authentic Windows XP Pro CD.
